It's a Crying Dame

Yeah I signed on to the Me Too campaign. Gender abused? Add my name! So many of my girlfriends posting the same; Playing the whose been raped or molested game. Not usually political and such an old refrain, But if you think we've got equity you'd better think again! Not just another dame jumping on this train, Nearly every woman I know, with nothing to gain Has to this sad list of affairs added her name. Could there be safety in numbers calling shame?

It is a sad reflection on society. Those stepping forward should be applauded and not be treated as criminals themselves. I applaud you Mo and I'm sorry for your plight...me too

Oh, gosh, I was very mildly molested by the man whose kids I was babysitting. I thank God he did nothing more than touch my breasts. I think almost all females have been inappropriately touched and it's horrible to think how many have been raped . It's really a sad comment on our society. Good poem. I like the play on words in your title.

Almost all I'm sure. So crazy isn't it?! I always counted my blessings that I wasn't abused as badly as my mom. Thank you, the title came first in this one :) mo hugs!

Powerful write, Maureen. I don't think it's about safety in numbers, but about visualizing how pervasive sexual abuse is in our society. It is chilling to see all the metoo's.

Indeed, and about change and unveiling shame. I had one friend post "not me", and that was more of a surprise. Actually the more I think of it the more cumbersome and moot shame becomes, more proactive emotions might prevail on all sides. xomo :)

Abuse is abuse no matter the gender, we should all stand up for what's right. Good write Maureen...
