Infinite

The word infinite is overused Of exaggeration you could be accused But isn't that the point of poetry To extrapolate the image infinitely Draw out the emotion Taste the devotion Experience it all via words on a page Everything from heartache to rage The metaphysical heaven and hell Infinite places to eventually dwell Escape from the infinite is out of the question Or perhaps just at the poet's discretion Writing Challenge - I Words - Poetry Contest 2 March 2023 Sponsored by: Constance La France 2nd place

An interesting write Dilly, infinite is a word I’ve rarely used, though I’d say poetry is infinite as there’s never a day goes by without a write. Congratulations on your success in Constance’s contest… Belle

Thank you so much Belle, I struggled with the I prompts until right near the end. I'm new to poetry and wonder if it will just dry up all of a sudden. It hasn't done in the 3 months of so since I started. (I grew up near a Belle Vue by the way - not sure if it's the inspiration for your name!)
