I'm lost at sea and weary
so tossed upon the tides
aged sinews and I'm leery
of threats this reef abides
and yet there is a comfort
within the gorging breaks
to run aground
and wash up
in your
ruins ...
forsaken midst the desert
on sands as hot as stars
I ache for highland heather
the broken rills and scars
and yet I find it's peaceful
along the plangent dunes
to melt away
and vanish
in your
ruins ...
misplaced deep in the jungle
its beryl bloom and breath
through labyrinths I bungle
while cheating proper death
still, I've found contentment
dwells in that tangled wood
so lay me there
to molder
in your
ruins ...
oh ...
how I long
to crumble
in your
ruins.
