These months grow old
Long, dark, deep, cold
Slow draws each night
Soul craves more light
Temps plunge, heat lost
Laced glass, fine frost
Snow falls, flakes blown
White drifts, gusts moan
Chilled air, iced nips
Red cheeks, chapped lips
Wrapped in down coats
Raw breeze, sharp notes
Stone moon shines down
Paints blue, dusk's frown
Stars bright, shine crisp
Keen draught, wind's lisp
Wide brush, light splash
Milk's Way, sky's sash
Deep breath, air bites
Sky's treat - North Lights
Yet my thoughts yearn
Long days, sun's burn
Birds croon, air hums
Buds bloom, life comes
Shorts and short sleeves
Tops down, green leaves
Swim, sail, play, bike
Beach, lake, camp, hike
These long eves, run
Soon caught, warm sun
But such thoughts seem
Now ... but Spring's dream.
