In the Silence

the life support was turned off and in the silence of that room, you sighed once leaving me forever but my love will never cease . . . _______________________ February 17, 2021 Poetry/Free Verse/in the silence Copyright Protected, ID 02-1330-297-17 All Rights Reserved, 2021, Constance La France (4 lines from my poem, I Was The One) Written for the Premier contest, Liberum Divisa 4 sponsor, Gregory R Barden, Judged 04/16/2021 Fourth Place

The description of an anchor is so apropos when one is ready to go, it just holds us back while heaven waits.

Hello Constance, I agree with you. I agree a free spirit should be free to soar free. I agree the machine is just an anchor. Yes she was not part of anyone any more. Enjoy your day my friend.

Darlene, thanks for visiting, yes, very sad, if you read my original poem called I Was The One, you will see that I was the one who made the decision to turn my mothers life support off, because a free spirit should be allowed to fly free even if in death, that machine was just an anchor keeping her in a world she was not part of anymore _Constance
