In the Grass

What is swaying? In the grass, it's a breeze Without concern Sway Whereas I might move to music Freedom of expression Play The World might be moving And I battle to stand still Pray Changing my opinion By choice or manipulation Say One of those super hugs The left and right ones Mum's do Stay The decision to maybe move off the path Into where wolves may dwell Stray From the grass we learn Sway Sometimes it's the whirling wind Sometimes it's the spinning blade Whipped about Or taken back to the start If roots are firm You will stand tall again Take stock, tomorrow is another Day In the Grass Poetry Contest 17th March 2023 Sponsored by: Anthony Biaanco

Thanks Wen, It was sticking in my mind as one I need to work on, but after putting in the hours on my Lowry Footles I might stick to instinct instead of graft... Haha I've never done graft! Thank you for your lovely feedback

"Sometimes it's the wind Sometimes it's the mower But it's roots are firm" - A great poem. Beautifully written with a powerful imagery of the Grass.
