kathy goff art

the snowflakes endless all bird songs have gone silent I fear for them in the cold then, heavenly chirps and from snow trees the birds sing

They are so enduring, these small wonders! You bring to mind the scripture promise in Luke ch.12:22-32 [24]Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? [25] And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

[26] If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? [27] Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Beautiful writing and worthy subject! Congratulations! Xo

Some birds move to warm places in winter season, but not all birds. I live in West Asia. In my area, these days I see some birds that only come in winter. A while ago, I was watching a documentary film on TV about one of these birds. Scientists tracked this bird. In summer it lives in Alaska. In winter it migrates to North Africa and West Asia.

AA, thank you for the visit and informative comment, yes, here in Canada we have some birds that go south to warmer climates in the Canada winter, but the sparrows and chickadees stay and it amazes me how they survive ~

It is quite remarkable that these creatures manage to stay alive in such a chilly climate, Constance. I sympathize with them. A poignant and wrenching poetry. Your beautiful poetry is always a delight to read.
