I cannot write without inspiration,
it must be born in my soul and my mind;
but sometimes Muse is on a vacation.
There are days of no illumination,
it feels like my writing pen has resigned;
I cannot write without inspiration.
Will I find a theme in a quotation,
perhaps after a walk words will be twined;
but sometimes Muse is on a vacation.
Maybe, insight from an old creation,
I will search and search 'til my eyes go blind;
I cannot write without inspiration.
A dream often gives me an elation,
in bed often a sweet theme I will find;
but sometimes Muse is on a vacation.
Perhaps what I need is some sedation,
for when calm my thoughts become so entwined;
I cannot write without inspiration,
but sometimes Muse is on a vacation.
