All my mom’s clothes are still in her closet. Dad holds onto all just where they are…but occasionally when I clean his home, I wonder in and put her sweater to my cheek. We miss our sweet moms. Heart hurts…

Thanks Ann it was the main reason I took time out of soup, although I had originally planned to focus on my book but mum was put on end of life care from June until she passed in November, I used to visit almost every day so it has hit me so so hard and it is taking time to find some sense of normality in life. hugs Jan xx

oh Jan, I have my moms old sweater and her night gown, it will be sitting in my closet until one day I go meet her. I so understand this, love xo

Thanks Vie, its not like me to write personal poems but this one came to me as I was wearing an item of mum's clothing for the first time since she passed away. I had always loved it and couldn't bear to let it go to the charity shop. hugs Jan xx

Thanks Sotto, I wrote it on my phone whilst on a walk before work. After I had posted it my son asked me if I was ok, I said its a poem about grandma.. he asked me to read it to him but i simply passed him the phone. I could see he was as choked up as I was. hugs Jan xx

Don't let go of her with your memories of her or her clothing. It keeps her close to you. Love you, Jan. Hugs.

Take your time, Jan. It's a lifetime of memories that you're going through. It's something you must do alone, but don't forget I'm thinking of you.
