Dear Sara, the quality of your haiku is outstanding. Your adept depiction of winter frost, icy, and frigid embrace elicits a deep sensory response. I am shivering at the thought of the poignant image of the frozen air vaporizing through the atmosphere. I am genuinely captivated and enchanted by your poetry. Well done

Your haiku are so well written dear sweet sara! And what a most fitting picture to go with this freezingly poetic haiku . I love the way you’ve written both of them. And they both go so well together, especially the first haiku last line really stood out for me “ natures icy hold” wow! What an imaginative and descriptive way to express and deliver your thoughts. Natures stillness still reigns, a brilliant line to end this with, its my pleasure reading your work. Happy new year. Best wishes. FAVE

What a pic-poem combo! Reminds me of the novel, 'The Jungle,' by Upton Sinclair, where the icy fingers of Chicago's winter winds reach into the bedrooms of poorly constructed tenements behind the stockyards. Brrrrrrr.

wow, thanks for the reminder about the scenes in "The Jungle." I read that years ago and now remember it a bit more vividly. Thanks for your visit and your comments. Hope your winter isn't too cold. Mittens might be order HA Sara

Oh wow, beautiful Sara, this is such an intriguing haiku poem, paired with a brilliant picture too, so evocative.. Your wordsmithery here creates a profound image where winter's grip dominates and nature's breath holds itself in a frosty stillness.. So creatively crafted! I absolutely love how you've written "frosty breath escapes", "nature’s stillness reigns" It can also be symbolised as the icy and chilly silence of melancholy, yet in solitude our hearts still reign with resilience.. Beautiful

Dear Sara, your brilliant Haiku portrays the cold, still, icy grip of Winter with vivid sensory imagery. The only thing moving is the "frosty breath" wafting in the frigid air. Sends a chill right through me! :) Splendid poetry my friend. Warmest wishes, dear poetess.. ~Susan P.S. love the pic too
