I Wish You Well For the Best Rondeau Competition
I wish you well and hope all's fine,
but long to hear you are still mine;
I thought I'd found a love with you
and that, like me, you would be true:
my dreams were sadly asanine.
I floated blissful on cloud nine,
with happy shivers down my spine,
but now I feel alone and blue.
I wish you well.
I'd ask if we could wine and dine,
but know you'd, cold as ice, decline;
I prayed you'd say we were not through,
but yes, it's time to say adieu:
no point in waiting for a sign.
I wish you well.
