I Will Rise

I’m learning how to do me,
To utilize the gifts God has given me
To spread my wings
To rise above the obstacles in my way
Keeping the hope in a brighter day
with knowledge that just over the arisen
is my victory
I will lift my head up and stand tall
To break down the walls
Others have created for me
And take back what is meant for me
And experience true meaning of liberty
Even though I fall yet I will rise
Rise above and not stay beneath
I will trample defeat under my feet
