The Situation

Blunt and to the point. At first I wondered "to whom was this written?" then it became clear. Let me be honest It was more like a threat than a bribe. Or may I even say a deal which left me thinking How could I win a contest with her if the deck is stacked against me? We don't need to bribe we simply strive to be the best. Hands down, the best.

I honestly think I would have better luck with male sponsors. ;) This one didn't even make it on the list. I sure do like those wins. Won in Heather's sonnet/haibun contest, so that helps in licking my wounds on this one. hugs to you, dear one.

Jan....I know what you mean. I know I don't do well with some sponsors. I don't write for them. Some sponsors I've taken it upon myself to crack. ;) I've done well with Cas on one contest (first place), got a N/A on the happiness 101, and have high hopes for this. ;) We will see how it goes. Hugs

Hello, Sunshine. Yes....I used to join contests very rarely, but I'm joining more now. I have observed that it gets my poems read more...which is what I love as well. I also love the challenge...and the joy of doing well. I don't join every contest....only those which move me. :) Sending you hugs.

I enjoy the challenges of the contests and learning new forms but know there are certain sponsors I will not place with or I'll score low - as long as my poems get read that's the most important thing:-) hugs Jan xx
