I Used To Write For You

I used to write for you Hoping you’d see and read It was my only means To reach you in your dreams I used to write for you Sweet word kisses for your heart With hopes you’d smile much brighter Your load a little lighter I used to write for you Lover’s lines to touch your soul Little rhymes to make you feel A love that defies the real I used to write for you And now, how can I write? When you are no longer you But someone I never knew I used to write for you Used to…Used to…Used to Yet again I write, it seems For you still live in my dreams My heart I must now reveal Surely you know what's inside I still…I still write for you For my honored word is true Eileen

No, I'm back. Came back on Saturday night. Only five days away. I didn't attend my own graduation service. :( Not emotionally able. I'm back. Catching up with you. Hugs

The cravings and yearnings of the heart sometimes consume us from the inside. You have wrote it so well my friend and as a poet sibling of yours please don't ever stop. Your one of the good ones Eileen. Blessings Carl

Eloquently expressed, Eileen...I think we can all relate to this...the muse may change but the feelings remain and hopefully the writing will continue from the heart! Hugs, Rhonda

Yes, the heart has many chambers, Rhonda. I've written a poem on this theme. One of my earliest writes here. Immortal. The heart's dead are never buried. Thanks for the visit, dear. Hugs

Thanks, David. Little one will heed your advice. I write...for I must. I don't care what assumptions or conclusions people reach from what they read. My heart is my own...as are my words. Thanks for being in my corner. Hugs to you.

Sigh!!!Eileen,my dear.friend Eileen..I do look back at my past poems at times, and remember what or who inspired them.. Then I look at my present poems and realize new chapters took over the old,and at last my muse did change, though the past can easilt haunt... I wont let it though..Like the wind I try to move on.You have unique ways of capturing the reader's soul Eileen. You are the poet/poetess!!Yes sweet lady: )

Thanks for the visit, my dear. You are very kind. I guess it has to do with my personality type. I'm melancholic/sanguine. We tend to live in the past. It always seems better than the present. Thank you for the compliment. It takes one to know one! :) Take care...

Oh I relate to this! i love the repetition of "used to", sometimes I look back at my old poems that I had written for somebody and try to recapture that. I enjoyed this one! it is perfect.
