I Try To Be Creative

I try to be creative in a variety of ways: having found each new creation as if an infant – and who can resist? Not limiting myself...yet, poetry draws me back: something cathartic about the slush of words... the sting of cold crystals – and then the thawing as my mind transitions to a satisfying warmth, basking in regenerative phrases – for the moment entirely free from the communal bogs... I often wonder of God... whether or not He has His favorites – the writer, the critic...or those All Knowing Editors – who choose gold crowns over my usual one of thorns....

Joe, the real secret is just write...write...be yourself and put down on the page what comes into your mind. Learn some poetry forms and give them a try, too. I enjoyed your poem.
