I Try To Be Creative
I try to be creative
in a variety of ways:
having found
each new creation
as if an infant –
and who can resist?
Not limiting myself...yet,
poetry draws me back:
something cathartic about
the slush of words...
the sting of cold crystals –
and then the thawing
as my mind transitions
to a satisfying warmth,
basking in regenerative
phrases – for the moment
entirely free from the
communal bogs...
I often wonder of God...
whether or not He has
His favorites – the writer,
the critic...or those All
Knowing Editors – who
choose gold crowns over
my usual one of thorns....
