I Set You Free

the doctor told me there was no coming back that this was it ... oh, how can this be happening to the most amazing the most wonderful caring person I know how can you be an empty shell but, as I look into your staring eyes they no longer see me I wonder where have you gone what limbo do you exist in it seems like an eternity I have waited and wished for you to come back to look at me and smile now, the doctor says he needs my permission to turn off your life support oh, you loved life so much and would not have wanted to exist this way you taught me to be strong and have courage so, I sign the papers quietly you take one breath and you are gone oh, mother because I love you I set you free _______________ June 12, 2021 Poetry/Verse/I set you free Copyright Protected, ID 06-1362-995-12 All Rights Reserved, 2021, Constance La France Written for the contest, All Yours (Jun 14) sponsor, Brian Strand, Judged o6/13/2021

Been in your shoes. Not going into the story. People are still there; just in a different state. I learned to communicate with my Mom. I found a way!!MDs and Hospice best stay away from my house. My Mom lived with us eight years. I was her nurse and daughter. I cried, till I learned she was still the same person.what a gift to my life.awesome))) and A touching write, Constance.thank you+++ Pangie xx

Pangie, thank you for sharing and for your compliment on my poem, I got a gift too, before my Mom went into a coma she would never come out of, she said, "I love you Constance" these were her last words in this world. I did not realize at the time that I had be given a gift that few people get, love _Constance
