I Set You Free
the doctor told me
there was no coming back
that this was it ...
oh, how can this be happening
to the most amazing
the most wonderful caring person I know
how can you be an empty shell
but, as I look into your staring eyes
they no longer see me
I wonder where have you gone
what limbo do you exist in
it seems like an eternity I have waited
and wished for you to come back
to look at me and smile
now, the doctor says he needs my permission
to turn off your life support
oh, you loved life so much
and would not have wanted to exist this way
you taught me to be strong and have courage
so, I sign the papers
quietly you take one breath and you are gone
oh, mother because I love you
I set you free
