I Rise
I rise
not as one
on a fluff of cloud
driven high by
gentle bellows of faith,
caffeine of religion --
priests selling rides,
promising chariots
and crowns….
Inflation God’s aspiration
breathed into me and my out
Sanctity is not a medal
talisman nor icon
wealth need not be sought
as much simply allowed
books and chants
can be more distraction
than elevation
one need only open
one’s hand, Love’s internal reach
already our gift and grasp….
