I Miss You So Much-Grief

It’s been almost twenty years since you left. My heart broke on that devastating day. It has a big hole that time has not filled; I never got over the pain of losing you. I put one foot after the other, and I just adapt. But I miss you every single day of my life. Last month was tough; It was your birthday, I couldn’t hug, call or see your face. My children never got to meet you in the flesh, But they have met you, when they met me. Every time they look in my eyes or see my smile, I love and miss you always. I love you, dad.

Alexis, you have so beautifully expressed a parent's desire for their children to met someone they have deeply loved. I think of Jesus' words, when you see me, you see the Father. Nicely done in flowing rhyme! Congratulations on your win! Hugs and a :)

A very moving write Alexis, it’s sad your children never knew their grandfather in person, they obviously know all about him from you though. Warm wishes, Belle

I could have written this for my step children who never met my son whose birthday was last week also. I felt your pain. It will never go but do keep his memory alive...it gives me purpose to go on. I truly took this poem to heart.

An exceptional poem that brings to life the feelings you have about your father's passing: You did a wonderful job of expanding on your parents' legacy, sorry for the loss of your dad. Warm hugs Alexis
