I Knew
A sweet smile overcame you
one I've known many times before
no words could make a difference
I was trapped behind that door
once jiggling upon the table
dancing to every move you'd make
but now I sit here waiting
dwelling my mistakes
I know you have another
I see the footprints in the snow
you tiptoe around the questions
as the tension ever grows
I failed for I allowed it
giving with an open heart
the last balloon has left my fingers
farewell it's sweet depart
