I Kept You Out, But You Kept Me In

I can never thank you enough for not having given up on me; even when I had given up on myself, drowning in my own burden of sin – I kept you out but you kept me in. Kept me a part of you, showering me with compassion and love; all the while never making me feel lesser and you so far above – when I thought myself a loser, you thought me a win – I kept you out but you kept me in. And then, I invited you in, to find you already there; the more I gave up on me the more you showed me how to care – how selfish I was, now my only thought to share; a new life ready to begin – I kept you out but you kept me in….

"you" in this poem must be a very, very special person. Nice tribute, Joe... and love the wording! Blessings and Bliss, Gershon

So pleased you picked up on the spiritual nature of this work. We may give up on God, or be totally oblivious to His Loving Presence...but He never gives up on us. Hell is our own making.
