I Glory In My Sparkle
I dressed up glitzy today
Wore my sequined top
It sparkles my happiness
Ahead of me
Everyone who has seen me
Has made a comment
Job interview? Surely not.
Meeting? Yes, of course.
Easily read, I am.
The woman who makes a pattern
of wearing hoodies and double
fleece lined pants most days
with fluffy socks
I glory in my sparkle-shine today
Feeling my faerie self
laugh delight
Hoping I will do this
other days too
But alas
my memory is short
and today’s glory
might be enough to satisfy
me for many moons.
