I Can Love You
I can love you from afar
I don’t need to hear your voice
Or feel your breath upon my cheek
But its hard, so hard
I can love you from afar
And watch the seasons pass
The dust of years settle on my heart
But its hard, the ache of regret
I can love you from afar
Hoping you smile in the sunlight
And gather round you those you love
But its hard, I know the face of loneliness
I can love you from afar
And I will, without pride in my jealousy
For I have no say in this
It is hard, but then it was hard back then...
