Nice said Bill. We detest the rain because is dark, wet and covers the sun. But what would we do without it?.. So right you are my friend. Nice poem to learn from. Blessingsxx

You're right, Maria, when it rains, we gripe because it interferes with our plans, and when it doesn't rain, we complain that the grass is not green. The poor rain can't win with us sometimes. Thanks for your thoughtful comments my friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

So deeply melancholic, but that is what rain does.. it makes you ponder, it drifts you back into a time long long ago that you may have forgotten... there is a deep feeling to raindrops and it inspires people in so many different ways.. its raining so much today... there are small floods in some places here in the UK..

I love the sound and smell of rain striking our window panes. I also love this poem--the personification adds depth and meaning to one of nature's most nourishing acts. I do believe this is one of your best poems of late...hugs, me!
