Hushed Promise
The whistle of an intolerant breeze
chills an exchange where silence rips
a gurgle of mumbled words, fumbling
into the hiss exhaled by reckless dusk.
Tears ink a lackluster face
as the vitality of the crest
mesmerizingly washes and romps with my feet,
teasing me gently into thoughts
of a hushed promise that
now lays dormant upon cracked rocks...
when a farewell douses all those memories
collected, treasured… now lost
in a sudden swhish of cold night air.
