It's now, October, twenty-one;
it seems this year had just begun
with hopes that days would better be
before its span is over, done.
But, times seem worse, most must agree:
with vaccine mandates, we're not free
to make a choice- be wrong or right;
not bound by government decree.
So many workers now must fight;
unvaccinated, face their plight
of losing jobs because of stay
to honor choice as their birthright.
How many more, on this pathway
of mandates ordered will betray
the freedoms of democracy-
now that they've opened this doorway?
