How Long
How long will this night linger, my love?
How long will dreams serve as emissary?
Visions of love and passion so necessary
Convey deep love we share from above
Hour by hour, painfully slow are the days
Warm thoughts run rampant I walk in a haze
Sleep elusive, rarely visits as my heart's ablaze
For in slumber I could touch you...through the haze
This yearning to gaze deeply into your eyes
To dwell in the sunshine of our eternal ties
How incessantly I pray as I look to the sky
That you'd borrow wings to bring you nigh
Into these warm, vacant and eager arms
Which long to hold you; come share my charms
