Notes About The Poem

Home Sweet Home

Heaven is located behind my front door
orchids of every colour adorn
my lounge; which is my horticultural haven
everywhere you look is blessed with their beauty

So many memories are behind these four
walls where my son spent his childhood days
Everywhere I look there are reminders of him;
even though he has flown the nest
this is always going to be his home

How time has passed so quickly
o ur lives certainly have changed
My home is our special sanctuary
Every day on earth that we remain

This really brought a tear to my eyes. This is the best, so much heart in your home, I sold my home and don't have a home anymore, i mean a proper home where memories live, wish i could go back and change what I did, I am sad, but love your poem x Wendy

While the first 2 verses are beautiful, touching, it is the 3 stanza that speaks to me. Home is indeed sanctuary, God bless the person who does not have such, and our lives and times do change so very quickly. I have many plants, didn't know you were into them also ... CayCay

We are so so fortunate CayCay - and yet some people are not happy when there are people in the world who have so little and are appreciative of the smallest thing. I am an orchidaholic CayCay i have 25 at last count (I think) my lovely friend Chris brought another one over for me yesterday as a late birthday present - I love the challenge of getting them to re flower year on year:-) hugs jan xx

Home is sweet home because we make it so; a place where we feel safe , a place to come back to. Not for all, unfortunately...for some living in misery, it is a place to run away from. You make yours sound so welcoming;) Hugs *** paul

As much as I enjoy travelling, coming home to familiar things is oh so satisfying! A loving home IS a sanctuary. The only green plant in my home is a large cactus given me some years ago. It requires little attention, perhaps that's why I like it. Good luck in the contest. / M

There is certainly a pleasant feeling associated with a nice home. It's also fun to try to keep plants of all kinds. We do that in what we call our sun room. And yes, time goes by so fast now. What a change in speed from when I was young. Hope your green thumb is working wonders.
