The cross is a symbol of abject suffering and base brutality, lacking humanity. Jesus nailed to the cross, is a vile depiction of cruelty and torture causing anguish and death. I find it curious that Christens would select such a gruesome image to symbolize God's love. How many innocent souls have died on the cross in the name of Jesus, by so-called popes and priests? A crucified figure hanging in agony, in no way represents a caring, loving God. Through His own testament, Jesus was born a Jew, and He prayed to Yahweh, His one and only God. Although a great healer and a Jewish Rabbi, history sees a man and sadly, so do I. (Quatrain) 11/4/2017

You are right Emile, he was Monotheistic as a Jew, Not til 300 years later the doctrine of the trinity was affirmed by Constantine. No where in the Bible does it use the word trinity, it is of pagan origin look it up in the Catholic encyclopedia, while there look up the origins of the cross, Christmas etc it's all there! However we disagree, I believe he was God's son our saviour, but worship only goes to Yahweh (hebrew) the father, Jehovah(English) Thanks for this interesting post!

As far as the cross, it reminds us how far he went to forgive us.

This is a though provoking write, Emile. Yes, the cross was a symbol of shame, and perhaps Christians do place too much importance on it as a symbol. However, I believe that Jesus was so much more than just a man. That changes the meaning of the cross for me. There are Messianic Jews, Jews who accept Him as the Anointed one. For me, someone who knew of his impending death and was willing to go through with it is someone who deserves to be loved.

Thanks Eileen, yes I whole heartedly agree he deserves our love... but does he deserve our worship? Your comments are must appreciated my friend, Emile.
