Himalayan Lily

There dwells, in pale eastern shade Under dark pillars, Himalayan Forged in thunder’s dome A lonely flower Seven years a virgin locked Now spiraling flush and flame Parting petals Awake and tremble Only to slip thereafter and forever Into peaceful abyss Dissolve into earth My heart empty Shall I deliver From grief in brief flash Glory from death Snatch under her breath That grievous ghost Petals of An unborn bride ~ In silent light Dark flower Under night Eternal madness swells

Love the last lines : “...in silent light..eternal madness swell ..” so powerful ~ eternality can swell into madness, yet in the very madness, is silent light . I didn’t even know the Himalayas had a lily : trust it to denote Love so precisely.

A tribute poem to a very rare flower, the Himalayan Lily. It takes so long to manifest and then dies so quickly. Your poem can also use it as a metaphor of love. Long in developing into true love, then capable of ending so quickly. Intriguing poetry, Mat. I enjoyed reading your poetry today. Write On! Bill

Oh my, this is such an enchanting poem that explores the fascinating realm of the Himalayan Lily in such a gorgeous way. Although, metaphorically it can be interpreted for a magical woman too.. I am truly mesmerized by the beautiful flow of this poem as it swirls in so much elegance and depth.. Gorgeously crafted ~ enjoyed reading this..

could be both...or neither;) - intrigued by the flower though, takes seven years to bloom then dies
