Written: March 05, 2024 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a colorful garden where nature blooms. At your call, I rise tall and dulcet in red looms. My flowers are trumpet-shaped and clear. I am a Hibiscus, an iconic flower, comely dear. Akin to Eden, I bedizen earth with an exotic zest Birds, bees, and butterflies join to sip my digest. A burst of hues, lambent views, in a yard of sate.  Wildlife dances comely by the scene, full of cate. My time is short, for I fall soon after I bloom. Above my grace, my life doesn't cease in doom. My petals hold peculiar cures beyond compare. My teas and pills ease pain and pressure, so rare.

SP, they are indeed one of the most beautiful flowers we have. Your personification is a pleasure to read and contemplate. We'll soon have these flowers here in NY and we look forward to it. They're probably blooming in the local greenhouses as we speak.

Great personification my friend.. It highlights the hibiscus's unique trumpet-shaped flowers and its significance as an iconic symbol of beauty and grace. The comparison to Eden further emphasizes the hibiscus's role in bedecking the earth with exotic splendour. The imagery of birds, bees, and butterflies being drawn to the hibiscus for nectar adds to the sense of vitality and abundance in the garden. The portrayal of wildlife dancing comely by the scene creates an enchanting picture of the hibiscus's allure.

Dear sotto, what a beautiful and refreshing take on this, hibiscus represents love and passion and your way of personifying it is so very captivating and creative: i love the rhymes and descriptive diction of your lines and how youv also written “ Birds, bees, and butterflies join to sip my digest. A burst of hues, lambent views” gorgeous! We have so many here, in maldives, and youv really described them well. And the fragility of their petals and how short their lifespan is! Impeccable! Fave

Outstanding personification, dear Sotto!! After the daffodil, the hibiscus is my 2d favorite flower. We have several crimson hibiscus that are perennial (they're not tropical). As you indicated, their blooms are short-lived and even more so in the Texas summer heat. I enjoyed the cadence of your poem and rhyme scheme. Your way with descriptive words and phrases is truly artistic. your poetess friend in Texas, Sara (PS wasn't aware of the medicinal uses of the lovely hibiscus. Thanks)

"Akin to Eden, I bedizen earth with an exotic zest Birds, bees, and butterflies join to sip my digest. A burst of hues, lambent views, in a yard of sate.".... So true. A whole lot of winged beauties surround these flowers like bees, hummingbirds and butterflies. This poem written in beautiful rhyming has all the charm and loveliness of shoe flowers. Besides, beauty, you have found the medicinal uses of hibiscus. All the Best dear friend.
