Her Blue Eyes
One
weak
cry, the
sound of life
beneath collapsed brick
All hands rushing in joint rescue
Muscle, bone, blood and tears combine in forceful purpose
Until the last line of faded light reveals a broken cradle; her blue eyes look out.
