There is a painting at the art gallery,
That I have a very strong affection for;
It is a man who calls to me from the past,
He lived in the year 1670, long ago.
Long hair swept back from his face,
And those eyes so dark and fathomless;
Eyes full of passion and desire,
He does not smile yet I still adore him.
I want to reach out for this handsome man,
For he seems to be beckoning to me;
Come, is his soothing whisper echoing deeply,
Dignified his demeanor yet I know he is romantic.
Oh but if I could step within this frame,
Be in his world and in his time just for a moment;
He would caress my lips with his fingers,
And hold me within his strong arms.
And we would love each other forever,
He knows already that my heart is his alone;
We would entwine in desire and passion hungrily,
Oh yes, I have a strong affection for him.
But this is but an old painting on a wall,
And a tear falls as I reach out to touch his hand;
Then he is kissing me with lips so demanding,
And I am with him within this frame, forever.
