Handcuffed Heart
Remove these handcuffs from my heart, please Lord,
don't let the devil put me in that dark cell
Make him release me, let me walk in Thy light I adore,
don't let my soul descend down into hell
I want to be free, free again to love and to laugh,
all the simple pleasures that are taken for granted
I would give all that I possess, all that I have
in exchange for mercy, where justice is demanded
O my shackled heart, go not to that imprisoned place,
I beseech Thee, my God, please, please hear my distressed cry
Let not this prisoner of hope be taken away in haste,
though my trespasses have me bound, I no longer question why
Pardon, O Lord, unchain me from these strong bands,
let my handcuffed heart be freed by Thy loving Hands
