Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul. Psalm 146:1
~~~~~
In the morning, before the dew dries on the lilies,
Silence, breathless feelings…
Praising, even in stormy weather – praising because He is
The light, the wonder, the music and the blessing
He is the reason I believe and He is the grace in my belief
He is the joy that brings such peace and He is the music, the light
Beneath my feelings, my serenity, my giving – He is the reason
That I can always see – hope alive inside my spirit,
Where He brings the gentle, the sweet, all the wonder of love
That agrees to bring my heart, my soul – Hallelujah!
In the evening, before the stars start their music, their beautiful
Rising, sensations of the holiness…
Praising, even during the careless dance between moon and stars,
Praising because He lives and He gives each spirit the freedom
To feel, to pray, to praise – the freedom to break and the freedom
To be restored by the hope that He pours through the heart…
He is the reason I believe in the love that He brings, the love
That I cling to with assurance that it is grace that I need, grace
That brings me through the dark – into the light where I can see…
Appreciate all the beauty He sings through my soul, the beautiful
That invites me to shout with a hope, a faith – Hallelujah!
In the life where He abides, before His sacredness inspired me to write
About His light, His love, His life… the miracle of One who inspires insight,
The wonder of a love that completes me and defeats every fear,
Whispers the gentling peace that combines with the praise to prepare…
A way for me to know reassurance that lives, comfort that comes to life
In the heart of the one who listens to His word, hears His good…
Remembers to pray for the way, the grace, the faith – to simply believe
In the hope that makes a way where no way can be seen,
The faith that remembers to pray even when there is defeat,
The love that silences every pain even when there is grief…
Thanks to Him, His beautiful – I praise Him, I say, “Hallelujah!”…
Even when the past haunts and taunts,
When the dark silences all my hopes,
When the fear knows how to discourage my prayers…
I can still say, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!...
Because I know, deep down in my soul… He is alive
He will survive through every trial, through every hurt
He will always be by my side, protecting my soul –
Assuring me that His love is a love that I know will never be stolen
His love is a love that is eternal, forever and always….
Hallelujah silences every worry because I know Him, His love
This is the praise that comes away, ever saying, “Hallelujah!”
With all my praise, I will forever say, “Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!”
