Half Past Summer,Two Months Till Fall

Intense heat and humidity of July’s yellow eyes. Still, I see mellow leaves, falling from the trees, withering. Nearly naked, both the skin and the bark, age in season.

Kim, you have captured the blistering heat of this summer quite vividly. The heat index here (north Mississippi) was 106 today! Janice

Nice sijo. Every season had its beauty but there is something sad in the passage of summer. That first line I can relate to well. Humidity in Beirut is awful. Thanks for sharing.

"Intense heat and humidity of July’s yellow eyes." -- Indeed, blistering. Great imagery! Still, in my old age, I like the heat a lot more than the cold. Cold really makes my bones ache. Can't stand air-conditioning, and my wife likes it on ice-cube.

I find when I get bone-cold it is hard to shake it. We don’t keep our AC at ice…lol. Thank you, Joe!
