Halcyon
There’s a walk back in time,
A journey to amiable clime,
Days of tranquil sojourn,
Days away from the gloomy region.
My chamber didn’t hunger for light,
There were few monsters to fight,
The meadow had no lurking shadow,
It was a desire to look through the window.
Though the days had their troubles,
They were not eerie bubbles,
There was no overcast in my room,
I wasn't saddled with shifting gloom.
I look into today’s portrait,
And wonder why the lanes are not strait,
I remember what my father had said,
I remember all I have read.
