Goodbye To Complexity
Goodbye Complexity
To cross the barrier of a complex character
To quiet simplicity.
The courage of a brave little flower,
Standing tall in icy snow;
A one-tooth babe chortling a morning smile
And giggling with delight;
Dew on my face as I take my place
With early strollers;
An easy chair and music’s fare
At the end of the day;
The smell of new mown grass as I pass
A kitty cat mewing at me.
Onions and bacon frying at twilight;
The smoke from a fresh grill light;
A little girl in an Easter dress prissing
So proud of big girl self;
To read a book in a leafy nook
Beneath afternoon cooling trees;
The smell of laundry dried on the line
On a spring windy day;
A pipe for you or maybe two
As we steal quietly away;
An endless list of simple joys
Will rest our weary way.
