Goodbye George

Dear George, we’ve had eight fine years You had half the world shedding tears Involved our neighbors on distant shores Sent our kids off to senseless wars We are still paying for your aggression With worldwide economic depression You attacked Iraq as you had vowed Took damn good care of the corporate crowd I put a sign on my front lawn Saying good bye George, Thank God you’re gone

Can't wait to put the same sign up for the current administration also .. if it will be allowed. very well said, Vince although I can't think of too many politicians we couldn't put that sign up for. The world seems to be at greed not peace.

Thankxxx for your blog comment Vince and boo hoo to those Cowboys after their whooping by the Vikings... I am really a Giants girl but they let me down... this year... sorry about your Eagles too.. one of my son's is crazy for the Eagles and was so upset after Dallas beat them... but they got their due today... I just wanted someone from the NFL East to win Super Bowl this year... guess we just have to be satisfied with the Jets for now .. even though they are a longshot.. luv.. Linda-Marie

Beautifully crafted poem,Vince but I must take the minority view here. The President has much less influence over the economy than does The Congress, The Federal Reserve Board and world banks, yet they get the blame when it is bad but happily claim credit when it is good. The economy was already starting to spiral downward before that 'dumb Texas red-neck' ever took office...nonetheless a very fine poem! - Tim

Yes, I do believe your past president was not a well liked person. He recently was in Sask. giving a speech on some of the decisions he made. Still part of the old boys club. God Bless Phyl
