Memories, thrills and sighs
Listen… to the touch of a pen
Who understands your need
To give back a piece of you
A part of your heart and soul
A chunk of your hope and faith
A sample of mercy and grace
Portions of your spirit’s praise
Listen… to the words that run
Through your mind, crying out
Dreams, both dark and bright
Promises that meet with your intuition
To create a verse filled with wisdom
Listen… to your voice lifted up
Dancing with pleasure, appreciation
For the wonder of this chance to
Lift up your thoughts through
Poetry that fills the page with
Your caress, embrace, soft rays
Of sunshine that touches down
With a sigh from God’s sweet kiss
