Gift of Forgiveness
1 John 1:9 KJV - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Forgiveness gift
wondrously precious
granted by God freely
packed with compassion bliss
along His kindness, bountifully exceeding
wrapped by constant peace sublime
midst seal of triumphant hope.

Honestly, my soul admits
transgressions, errors, iniquities, offenses
unconsciously done or deliberately committed
while I thank the Lord for regarding my human nature flaws
dealing with my weakness, limitations, carnality, arrogance
according to the prodding of the Holy Spirit midst gentle forbearing…
letting me repent, welcoming me to draw nigh to HIM for confession.
“He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins…”
Humbled, my heart rejoices to accept Christ’s gift
as I believe HIM Who is the way, the truth, the life
with His mercy and truth-anchored pardon
offered with His clemency, blood-priced
since He sacrificed Himself, paying completely
for my ransom against sin-condemnation
giving me everlasting life, secured from guilt-torture…
forever assuring that I can rely on His trustworthiness.
“…and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Honouring the Almighty, my spirit exalts HIM by faith
Who in His holiness, sanctifies me from defilement
with His perfection, justifies me thru righteousness-imputation
purging me from filthy wretchedness
toward becoming victorious vessel of His light…
declaring His grace-propelled reaching-out
for me to live joyously in His love, sharing His forgiveness gift.
FORGIVENESS GIFT IN COUPLET FORM
With human nature flaws --- marked by sins and errors
God’s forgiveness I seek from angst of guilt terrors…
Midst divine standards required for holy worship
Christ’s forgiveness I ask toward blest fellowship…
Admitting my failure against temptation flight
The Lord’s forgiveness-grace I receive to do what’s right…
Assured with forgiveness whenever I confess
My heart delights in the Pardoner I profess…
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, now forgiven
My soul --- thanks HIM --- eternally bound to heaven…
Trusting the Almighty Father’s forgiveness grant
My faith practices it, feeling exuberant…
Recipient of the Saviour’s forgiveness-wonders
I share precious wealth filled with Bible reminders…
Having offended someone, causing hurt and pain
Forgiveness I beg, claiming restoration gain…
Glad forgiveness my spirit offers with hope’s glow
Knowing the peace it grants along victory flow…
Celebrating forgiveness triumphs ends my day
As love of God prevails, surmounting evil way...
Gratefully basking around fellowship so blest
Gift* of God's forgiveness I so cherish with zest.
*Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
