Ghetto Plight

Hovering in the Clutter of poverty, No smiles on their faces, Looking skyward Having a confrontation with God, Their eyes the voices of their souls. Their houses shout too, We are enslaved! The windows are dark and lifeless! Who will hear them when they cry? Not the landlord, Over the jingle of his pocket money! Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City, N.J. Cynthia

This poem lives around the world, wherever people of color reside. Check out "The World is a Ghetto" by the band called War.

Interesting write. There are worse neighborhoods in Atlantic City than Pacific Avenue. Check out Baltic Avenue and Mediterranean Avenue near the inlet. You will see why they are the cheapest blocks on the Monopoly board.
