Gatherin' At the River
Gatherin’ at the river on a baptism day
Preacher says it’ll wash my sins away
While the choir is a-humming, they sway,
I’ll be a new creature, so they say,
I’ll be a new creature, so they say!
Gatherin’ at the river for my salvation
Wading in the water with no hesitation
Living in a brand-new Jesus situation,
I’ll be a new creature, so they say,
I’ll be a new creature, so they say!
Gatherin’ at the river, walking a new road
Giving up that cumbersome sinner’s load
Finding in the Word my new living abode,
I’ll be a new creature, so they say,
I’ll be a new creature, so they say!
Gatherin’ at the river a smile on my face
Loving everybody, the whole human race
Saved by God’s very own Amazing Grace,
I’ll be a new creature, so they say,
I’ll be a new creature, startin' today!
