From the Ashes

Can I escape from my own imbedded think Rapidly warped perception is the liquid I drink What Jesus is saying I discard with a blink My mind bent morality displacing Biblical ink The collapse of my synapses interlinked and exhausted with too many strange thoughts my mixed mind is accosted So sinking six feet a shrivelled seed potted Mildewed dusty dirty in the burnt soil rotted I rise from the ashes Escape from my dry Soul, body, mind, reconstitution on the wind I now fly Embracing this new freedom Knowing why my old self had to die Perspective changes everything when viewed from on high For God’s ways are different He speaks in whispers not a shout Trusting in His wisdom removes every doubt Within this mortal heart I can feel His Spirit sprout Who I wished to be before is no longer what I’m about. The true experience of a battle to do good which comes with lots of distraction from bad. Bad is enticing, bad comes with lots of lust, bad seems irresistible, bad is common, bad is trending, bad is dope. But your last verse says it all... We still have salvation in Christ and with the new creation that we are, we can always rely of god to overcome, because truy 'He that thinks can stand should take heed, lest he fall." I not only enjoy this wonderful piece, I'm blessed as well. Welldone Ric.

Another fine write Rick, when the Biblical ink is displaced there is bound to be trouble. Hey Rick I saw a movie on Youtube called Beauty in the broken, was a great movie focusing on the beauty in every broken person highlighting the plight of the homeless, reminded me of you. I'm sure you will like it, gotta excuse the profanity though!

Displacing Biblical ink ... I guess that's where that trouble typically starts. Instead of following God, following our own heart. You have some soul-stirring thoughts here.

If God resides within our hearts, then to follow ones heart would be wise. Thanks for commenting Timothy.

I think its important to be op n minded and one of the things with religion for some and this is all religions, it prevents open mindedness .. even within their own beliefs there are struggles.. You always write thought provoking poetry ..

So let me understand, so to be opened minded one needs to believe in nothing?

Final stanza is a great summary TESITMONY, of your openness to the Spirit of God leading ... Thanx for asking about shalom - from my post comment: Shalom, is so rich - connected with Jerusalem - SALEM also PEACE). When Jews greet "shalom, shalom" it's out of this world. 1X to rebuke evil; second SHALOM: is the BLESSING. Not just peace, but "WHOLEness, which is a trinity of peace, healing, and well-being. That's what my dear Sister Jen is talking about. Hallelujah; thanX
