Work may cause stress and tears of pain. Is there ever any relief?

Where job creativity's hated We will weep and feel castrated But after quitting It's real and so fitting Without bawls anymore we're elated

Unfortunately, I've been there a couple of times in my life. It's discouraging at the time, but we close a door and open another....the new one benefits from all previous experience.

There is a certain freedom work routine---when we enjoy the new chapter in life of our choosing. Thoughtful write, Duke.

Vijay, you summarize it with fewer words than even I--you are remarkable. Freedom and work should go together, but they often go their separate ways. A really good boss or manager will understand the principle and accommodate workers.

Well said, and sadly relatable for most. This reminds me of a spring, squashed for a lifetime, but always ready to be un-sprung.

David, I like the reflection you are stating since it's hopeful. We want to get out before we get crushed to death! Fortunately most of us can read the signs!

Once people have possessions, they can be trapped by an occupation. It takes time, but moving into something else is always possible. Great possibilities are out there. Your limerick was thoughtful, and a picture of the future.

You are very insightful Hilda. There are ways to make transitions. Sometimes they take years to work out, but we should never be deterred from our dreams. Thanks so much for being here!

You have a keen sense of rhetoric, Duke. Your limerick vividly captures the shift from sorrow to glee, painting a picture of freedom's essence. Your words exude bravery and stamina instilling a sense of confidence. Choosing our path is truly gratifying.

SP, I know you are right. It's difficult to express ideas in very few words but I try. The problem I have is that I sometimes get vectored to things unintended. I am pleased with your summary of this one as choice of a path in life is a key to success and having a sense if fulfillment. I wish that for everyone.

Lin, I originally was working with the idea of elation and thinking of suitable rhyming words. I have been feeling so much better after quitting a job that became oppressive. I am actually a bit startled at how good I actually feel as a result. I am so very pleased this one caught your fancy!

Hello Duke, your poem is filled with the raw truth of breaking free from suffocating constraints. The journey from tears to elation beautifully captures the essence of reclaiming freedom. Your words inspire resilience and courage in me. This powerful piece my friend. - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, you are most kind. I am really lucky to have made it to this ecstatic state of mind. I seems oddly unfamiliar as it was only encountered a few times in life. Now I have some wonderful glow and good feeling inside of me in my heart and head. I wish I could convert it to a drug and sell it to the mental health community, but that seems asking for too much.
