For Joseph May's Four by Four poetry contest.

The aim was to write 4 lines per stanza and with 4 words per line.

In season of birth, daffodils and tulips flourish. Forests regain verdant leaves. Robins build fresh nests. Blazing ball burns brighter, as sunflowers grow tall. Butterflies search for nectar, savouring diverse vibrant petals. In season of death, trees reveal empty nests. Migration of birds begins. World prepares for festivities. Dark days become colder. Frosty landscapes cause chills. Snowflakes create a blanket. Ruined by human footsteps.

Dear SO: Nature is our greatest teacher - that everything has its cycles and without some adversity how would we appreciate or recognize the beauty. Loved your precise images and when I réad the last verse my eye immediately went back to the first verse for a remedial. Congrats on nailing this contest. ^~^ SuZ

This is an outstanding poem dear So. I love all the beautiful imagery captured vividly within the seasons but also the contrast between life and death. You have so artistically conveyed so much for the reader to contemplate upon with just those limited, restricted words which is not easy. Ever in awe of your talent. Have a lovely weekend :)

A fun frolick in the fertile soil. Humanly enjoyed. I visited the poem not so afar as to not feel the sentiment, or visit the show off birds and primadonna prims, who in some disgusting way-know they are beautiful-in a picturesque painting of raw habitation of respect for nature, unsolicited by target shooting, Woodstock festivals, burning man and demon. Just God's little ones doing their thing, and eating it all up with graceful bow.

Dear Silent One, I adore your creative portrayal of the four seasons! You captured the essence of each season with beautiful brevity..(using only four words per line, only four lines per stanza is not easy). Your imagery is wonderful, I especially enjoyed "In season of death,/trees reveal empty nests." A striking image! Also, I admire "Snowflakes create a blanket./Ruined by human footsteps." The surprise of the last line was a stunning and poignant finale. Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan

This is a lot of fun to read. I empathize with how snow's carpet gets ruined by people stepping on it. Especially on my front lawn!
