Forty

He heads through change like so many before
while her eyes follow him as he opens the door
There's no turning back not even in thought
Gone now are two lives who once only fought
Age 40 reveals . . . lesson taught. . .

Isn't it extraordinary how one inert door knob
can change lives forever

I remember a friend of mine having this very thing happen to her. On Christmas Eve. Got to be over twelve years ago, and she is still single. Her mouth smiles when we meet, but her eyes still reflect lonely Christmas. A neat little write, Judy, well done. Viv x

Tim Smith says he'll be back knocking on the door when he's 50! He'd have to knock a long time, eh Paul? LOL

When one door closes another one opens ... sometimes we have to let go and move on. I think there are many who can relate to this sad ending of a relationship but often it is for the best. A very powerful poem Judy good luck in the contest:-) hugs Jan xx7
