Fortunes

One strand connected to a minute many years ago and a minute now is the discovery of 2 fortune cookies I'd placed in a box and put in a cupboard at my Mum's. It must be near on 30 years ago I did it, I have no recollection but they were unopened so I presumed I'd intended to keep them safe for another day but 10,000 days later I opened them. Surely magic would be contained within? The fortune I'd missed was: Your future will be a happy one, don't worry. (Plus: today will bring happiness via a gift from a friend... Not sure which day that refers to, but I'll report back later)

An enigma. I think there are both welcoming fortunes, DD. It makes it even more special that it has long awaited and now IS the time - today the future is now. Have a good one!

Thanks Anaya, gifts often go unnoticed unless attention is drawn to them. I'm just trudging home through the rain having had a wonderful night out with friends. A gift right now would be a portion of chips but more objectively I'm a lucky girl :)

Yet...is that future now within which you live and will continue to, and more importantly is "today" 30 years ago (yes?) the day it is read, or the day it is left to be read? Who was meant to be the reader...perhaps it was your Mum's friend or...you are the friend?---perhaps all will be okay...simply because your gift is that you love and care---all else - makes today - that day?

I read so many things that day - my old school reports, old love letters, letters I'd written to my those who had died. It's so strange to reflect that I've never changed but changed completely and fortunes are very much still to be won and lost
