Forgotten Words Still Hurt
All the money in the world
can’t buy yesterday
The shadow cast on days gone by
cannot be changed that way
Forgotten words still can hurt,
their memory to reign
We harvest what we sow
in crimson fields of pain
A tempest borne of dark intent
still lingers in the night
Even though regret has come
and redress brought to light
The shore of woe’s forgiveness,
an often rocky climb
Yet sad and misty days can clear
To grace anew in time
As long as there is love inside
somewhere in one’s heart
The shadows cast on days gone by
disperse for a new start
