For Dale - My Hero

My mother’s second marriage and a godsend! For one became my mom’s devoted son. Sharp, exuberant, red-haired and fun, to everyone he met, a truer friend there could not be than him, who would defend righteousness and with steadfastness won success! In life, he would not be undone until he met, with Fate, an early end. His life snuffed out, his family - aghast - It finished fast - no time to blink; inhale! He passed beyond the veil with wisdom vast (what treasure you amassed, beloved Dale). Though in my dreams, with us here, he is cast, I know he now serves God where angels dwell. From the facebook post I just read, it looks like birthday (for Dale) and anniversary (for you and Joe) messages were in order. As Maxwell Smart used to say, "Missed it by THAT much". You and my sister Susie were married within 2 months of each other (June for her). Congrats, my friend!

This Italian sonnet always brings a lump to my throat and a smile to my heart. I have known this as "Dreaming Dale" from Friendship Garden. I know if he were alive he would be so supportive of your poetry talents. The way you write of him is so abundant in affection and admiration. If people in heaven can see people on earth I know he smiles upon the wonderful woman you are. And you will smile back when you meet him there. An amazing tribute to your step-brother Dale.

This is a nice tribute to Dale and sounds like he was a wonderful person. The ghost ship was made up and is purely fictional. Thanks for reading it. Good news I had White Dust published in our seniors magazine this month. I am in 7th heaven. love Phyl

You be de one with your sonnets. Dale must have been one-helluva-guy. There are a few who come along in life that are unforgettable. When you think of near-perfect, some unforgettable always comes to mind. Love, Dave
