I had a dream about you last night. I was alone on a dark night and you came to me as a firefly. I knew it was you because you were the brightest.

FIREFLY like subdued moonlight postured on crestfallen branch glad gleam of firefly embrace the sentient light don’t hide in a pickle jar 3/10/2022 Firefly Tanka Sponsor: JCB Brul

I love the intimate feel of this, like the solitude of night and then the welcome spark of the fireflies, should do well in the contest!

ha, ha, ha -- better than the doghouse the firefly (ex - ???) used to hide out in... lol. So creative, innovative, well-staged -- and such exquisite timing with that last line, Kim. This tanka gets the gold!

For sure; don't keep your sparks in a pickle jar. Life is for sparking. let them fly. Nicely said, Kim.
